Built by hand

The lean-to

Built 2005 — a neighbor's idea that turned into a community project.

How it started

A project between neighbors

The lean-to was a project started and completed with an enthusiastic neighbor. Bob wanted to build a lean-to, but he wasn't sure where on his property to build it. When he asked Gary if he wanted one on the campground property, that was the beginning of the quest.

He cut and stripped the trees from his own property with the help of his friend, Russ. John and Gary then helped him bring the trees down by the site to dry. Footings were put in, and the rest you can follow by the pictures below.

Thanks to everyone who helped, especially Bob Burt!
